No sex after barbecue -
"To get your partner in the mood, turn down the Barry White and feed her Good & Plenty. In a study by noted Chicago smell researcher Dr. Alan Hirsch, women exposed to the scent of licorice experienced a 13 percent increase in vaginal blood flow. That compares to a 14 percent reduction from the scent of barbecue smoke."

"If you think yoga is a great way to meet hot women, think again -- it's a great way to meet hot, turned-on women. Certain poses, such as the eagle, direct blood flow to a woman's pelvis, increasing sensation, says Rutgers sex researcher Beverly Whipple."

Memorial Day Weekend

28 May 2006 at 11:23 PM

The past couple of days spent poolside have been very relaxing. George came over from Saginaw today and hung around the pool with Travis, Lindsay and me.

I just got back from XMEN 3 which I watched with George and Mike. We all thought it sucked but my experience was extra shitty. The chick sitting next to me was a screen talker and wouldn't shut the fuck up.

MySpace

25 May 2006 at 9:35 PM

http://myspace.com/liquidspilldamage is me in MySpace. Someone again beat me to the user hywell so instead I am using liquidspilldamage. I am thinking of registering the domain name liquidspilldamage.com but feel like it's a complete waste of money.

No swimming tonight, even though the outdoor pool is open, because of a tornado watch. Hopefully, sometime this weekend I can get a chance to sit around the pool for some relaxation time.

WTF

24 May 2006 at 4:21 PM

Every Wednesday we get the threat of rain for the past three weeks. No rain at all prior to the league starting and all of a sudden every Wednesday the storms come.

Squid Adobo Tuesday

23 May 2006 at 6:24 PM

This has been a very sedate day. No planned activities after work but merely thinking of what to make for dinner. I've rummaged around the freezer and found a package of frozen squid. I immediately thought of squid adobo and so now after the squid defrosts the adobo-ing of the squid begins. The only other thing that is happening today is the game that goes on at 8 o'clock.

Rollerblading Monday

22 May 2006 at 9:36 PM

I went rollerblading with Travis and Lindsay after work today. Travis was disappointed that he didn't get enough of a workout. He'll notice tomorrow.

Sunday Golf

I played 18 yesterday at Eastern Hills. It was fun and cold. I didn't see the memo that said winter-like weather at the end of May. I don't think a post in this revision of my blog contained the sentence "Michigan weather sucks!" yet. It was a high of 54 degrees yesterday and I wore shorts. I played terrible in the front shooting a 55 but I played considerably better in the back but I am not sure of my score.

The Da Vinci Code the Movie

20 May 2006 at 7:32 PM

I watched it Saturday afternoon and I liked the movie. It is a tad different from the book but so are a lot of adaptations to film. The movie is a lot milder compared the book. I seriously do not know what the objections are all about. Are people out there so gullible that the church have suckered them into faith and that their belief can be changed by a movie? Maybe I do not understand because my belief/faith, as a catholic, is a part of the core of my being. I can sit and watch and be entertained by some heretical/sacrilegious ideas and file them at the back of my head afterwards as entertainment. Someone out there enlighten me with the evils that is this movie.

Almost There

On our approach to the 9th green was when the ominous purple, lightning-filled clouds hovered over head which led us to decide to run for cover. I didn't want to push my luck, I already had a close call earlier on the way to the 13th tee box. A ball landed a few feet from me, while walking on the cart path, bounced again, then landed a few feet from Darwin who was walking behind me.

Chris and Tom has rigged an airflow redirection device which was attracting a lot of people. Right now, my cubicle has dropped several degrees in temperature because of the change in office airflow.

I changed PCs yesterday. I have "upgraded" to an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ from an Intel Pentium 4 2.53GHz which really isn't that much of a noticable peformance gain. I just have a clean copy of Windows.

No train of thought today just random thoughts.

Age 6

17 May 2006 at 11:08 AM

I have been playing Kings of Chaos for a couple of years now. It's one of those things that I cannot explain. Harryl was the one who got me started. He quit playing at the end of Age 4 when he moved to California. If you haven't figured it out by now, the game goes by ages which usually last a few months. I played Age 5 alone and managed to get up to the final rank of... wait for it... 3825! If you haven't figured it out by now, 3825 spells out F-U-C-K on the telephone keys. Did you remember the 3825 968 shirt girl from March? People asked if that was her phone number on the shirt. There was actually a train of thought there somewhere.

Get Over It

16 May 2006 at 10:51 AM

Half a mile swim last night with Travis. It's nice to be able to switch things around when conditions vary. The plan was rollerblading on Mondays, golf Wednesdays, and swimming Thursdays.

Finally my blog is up and running again. I am not sure why I was getting "disk is full" error but it's gone now. One thing is for certain, I won't host a work related site with my provider. I noticed a deterioration in quality of service over the past year. But my laziness wins over having to move my site to a more reliable host.

I have been playing a lot of guitar the past couple of days. I think, in a few weeks I should be decent enough for lessons. Like golf, I didn't want to take lessons until I had a firm grasp of the basics. Problem with golf is that I ended up never going for lessons. I had friends that taught me golf but I don't think any of my friends can teach me how to play guitar.

I found a new song that I like on YouTube of all places. It's from a band called Ok Go and the song is called Get Over It. Just a link this time, didn't want to embed the video on the post.

Half Century Post

14 May 2006 at 12:24 AM

According to the post counter in Blogger this is post number fifty. Well, 49 never did show up to the public because the server hosting my site is low on space. I have been getting out of drive space errors and I removed some files from my site but my efforts seem futile. I am moving to Blue Razor like Chris. Can't beat the $2.95 a month price plus all the goodies/toys that come with.

I saw my sister at D&W today after not seeing her for some two years. I realize that all my crying is for naught. I have been too idealistic and should learn to let go. I can never expect what I think is right to be thought of as right by other people. Live and let live, I think is the expression. Maybe next Sunday, I can go play golf with her, Mark and Darwin.

This year seem to be turning out to be the year of reacquaintance. A couple of months ago was Sanjay and Yuri, now Ne. What I really long for is to get reacquainted/rejoined with the person that owns my heart.

Am I Alone?

12 May 2006 at 1:56 PM

So when someone asks you the question what is your name? Would you think the answer, I was baptized 33 years ago a ridiculously stupid answer? I think it's an answer that deserves an accompanied slap. Some people think I over react but maybe I just need to remove the stick that is currently up my ass.

Poor Kid

11 May 2006 at 5:01 PM

No Golf

We got our first rain day on the league yesterday. I ended up cleaning one of the rooms at home. Tonight is swimming night and I am planning to clean the other room when I get done swimming. The rest of the gardening thing will have to wait until the rains stop.

Someone told me today that I am entertaining to listen to because I jump around a lot. My thoughts are zipping through my head and cannot convey them fast enough. It happens usually when I am excited of trying to solve something. I need to take some Ritalin or something to slow my brain down. Maybe it's just that I am a poor communicator and that I am somewhat of an acquired taste. People usually have a puzzled look on their faces when I explain something. But is it me or is it just some people are slow? You can't win if you're fast and you're ridiculed when you're slow.

Green Thumb

09 May 2006 at 1:32 PM

I am going to do a bit of gardening tonight. I need to clean up the dried leaves from winter. Plant new plants. Make a little path walk and stand for my water feature. Man, I wish Nohemi was here.

Update:
I was a little gardener tonight. I cleaned out some of the weeds and dead stuff. I pulled out a lot of things and hopefulyy some of them weren't legit plants. I was watching the Piston-Cleaveland game while gardening. I actually like it, it's very relaxing.

PPS.
No, the title doesn't suggest that I was picking my nose with my thumb.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

06 May 2006 at 9:25 AM

I'm in Saginaw, drove here last night after workout. I arrived around 10:30 and Adrian was already sleeping. It's great that he sleeps at a normal time now. I just found out that he lost his two front teeth. He's growing up fast!

57

04 May 2006 at 2:05 PM

My score last night got me a handicap of 19 on 9 holes. We are currently sitting comfortably in fifth place (4 points behind). Next week, we play the ghost team which means I can shoot a 57 and still win all the points. Did I say that sandbagging is the way to play league golf?

Westbound

03 May 2006 at 10:51 PM

My mom and Mark just left for California. I am surprised how sad I feel. It'll probably be some years until I see Mark again. Hopefully, though, he'll have time to fly back for Christmas this year. Having family all over sucks. Now, I am the only one left in Kalamazoo.

GOOOOOOOOLf

The league at work starts tonight. I am excited to try out my new "playing league" strategy. In the past, my horrible start provided us with an excellent handicap buffer against other teams. Darwin plays consistent and I play continually improving. Last year, I played awesome in the beginning but never improved more the the season progressed. To make this whole explanation short, I am planning on sandbagging this year on the league.

Google Vanity Search

I posted this before on my WordPress powered blog. I lost the database and now it's back here for vanity searching purposes.
I am adding this post because when you search for Hywell Martinez on google this site isn’t the first thing that comes up. I wonder where else I can place Hywell Martinez in this site so that it pops up as the first hit in google?

The Fact of the Matter Is

I came in to work at 7:30 this morning because Chris asked me to be here early. We had to make sure something was running prior to the arrival of some big wigs. My point? Well, there were some people already here... the farmers. The ones that complain about my post-Industrial revolution work arrival time of 9 o'clock. These same complainers were busily chatting about indigestion from what I overheard as I walked by. There are people that actually come in early to work... to work some just come in to talk about their morning turd.
