Yarrow

30 April 2007 at 9:37 AM

If the aeration holes are still evident on your greens, please don't cut it too tight. It makes it difficult to gauge a putt that runs fast and flies/bounces all over the place too. This is golf not pachinko!

Played at Yarrow this weekend. My round shows that I've had a long break from golf. I couldn't chip or putt, my drives were off and on. The only thing that I was doing consistently well on were my irons. I need a lot of work to get back up to the mediocre level that I was playing in end of last season. Right now, I is just bad.

Community Living

28 April 2007 at 1:30 PM

I have gotten my first complaint from neighbors after two years of living at my place. They complained of the air freshener smell and an alleged uprooted plant. The plant was trimmed. The mother fucker was so wild that after the pruning it was unrecognizable to passers by. People thought that it was a brand new plant. Fuckers were bitching for the sake of bitching. Assholes! As for the nice smell that come out of my place, she actually said it smelled of peach. Mother fucker, at least it didn't smell of ass. Fuckin' a!

Just you wait. I am going to make some curry, followed by fried dried fish, then topped by sautéed shrimp paste. Ass it is you want, ass it is you'll get. Cock sucker!

Last night, the league was a bit relaxed, cold and slow. We caught up with the league that plays before of us and boy are them guys slow. They pose after every shot. Analyze the roll of their slice and/or hook. They did every poser golfer move. I wanted to go up to them and call delay of game and give them a ten yard penalty. There should be penalties in golf for the slow asses. Anyway!

My old drive showed up a couple of times last night. Hopefully, my game will come back soon. Maybe when the weather during play doesn't affect my blood flow my playing would improve. I shot a 49 or 50 which is too good for my sandbagging stratagem but too poorly for my liking.

Fatality

25 April 2007 at 9:56 AM

Word association coupled with pop culture makes for a callous person. Well not callous per se but just not normal. Whenever I hear the word fatality, I immediately think of Mortal Kombat and the ridiculous combos for fatalities. Not that a family just lost a mother, a sister, a daughter but Sonya Blade falling into a pit and getting skewered by metal spikes. There was a fatal accident today at the freeway, a woman driving westbound bumped into a semi-truck which threw her car into the eastbound lane then it slammed into another semi heading east. (Wile E. Coyote with ACME gear)

Conversation of an IT guy with a normal person

24 April 2007 at 4:54 PM

Me: Yeah! He's got a hairline like a Klingon.
Lindsay: A cling on?!
Me: Yeah! Like in Star Trek, a Klingon.
Lindsay: ??? [puzzled look]
Me: Opps! I'm sorry, I forgot that you're not a nerd.

OMG

23 April 2007 at 10:25 PM

[screaming like a crazy girl in an N*SYNC concert] The show is the shiznit! I am going to be so bummed when summer comes and I don't get my heroes crack. Dammit again for being addicted to a TV show. [continues screaming like a little girl]

Heroes Tonight

There used to be this really addicting show on NBC called Heroes that will finally air a new episode tonight. Seemingly eons ago, I was complaining about hiatus but it's over now. We can resume watching the next episode or so until the summer break comes. Grr! Damn TV show addiction.

Spring Has Sprung

21 April 2007 at 10:45 PM

Nohemi and I went with my mom to buy plants at Wenke. We also went to Walmart for some picks and shovels. Last stop, but alone, was Lowes for 30 bricks and 5 40lb bags of topsoil. I have a plan and it's slowly falling together.

Much Needed

The 1GB stick really gave the mini the much needed memory boost. Everything is functioning at a more optimal pace compared to the OOB 512MB. Esther's iMac has at least 1GB but also has the Core2Duo processor. Too bad I wasn't able to load boot camp on her iMac.

Today, I plan to do some gardening. Yes, I live in a condo but also no I do not live in a prison. I have asked the landscapers to leave pieces of my yard for me to maintain. People are rather ignorant of the inner workings of a condo association. I had someone at work ask me how I would plant since I live in a condo before.

Bitch And You Shall Receive

20 April 2007 at 2:37 PM

My package arrived today. The tracking information was pointing towards a Monday delivery. If I kept quiet that thing would have arrived Monday.

I ache. I cannot imagine how much I would whine if I didn't work out.

Nothing Until Monday

19 April 2007 at 10:27 PM

When one orders something 3 Day Select on a Tuesday, one expect the said item to be delivered on a Friday. My RAM isn't getting here until Monday.

I went to the range after work. I don't know what happened but I cannot seem to get my drive back. I think it is all in my head.

A Miserable Round

18 April 2007 at 10:41 PM

We started the golf league on a far too cold and wet of a day. I played terrible but I am not too concerned. It's handicap night so the score really doesn't matter. I shot a whopping 58 and no I wasn't sandbagging. It was drizzling out almost from the very beginning and got really cold towards the end. I hope next week will actually be an enjoyable round.

I cracked open my Mac mini because I ordered RAM for it. I just placed the order tonight but I wanted to see how easy it was to open the mini. It was very easy because I have the required putty knife.

I am shocked that I do not own The Sex Pistols on CD. I must have bought the cassette tape of The Great Rock n Roll Swindle from back in the day.

The Second Ammendent

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
That's all that it says about the right to bear arms. A lot of people are ignorant of the actual text and just regurgitate the rhetoric that they hear. The text can be interpreted to suit ones agenda so results from arguments are totally dependent on the person's inclination. This is a "fundamental right" an individual has that I would give up, indefinitely, if to save a single person's life.

Argh!

16 April 2007 at 1:00 PM

Nope, not a pirate grunt but more of a frustration snarl. Yesterday, I walked 9 at Eastern with Darwin and Travis. I couldn't get my drive to go where I wanted to go. I knew that it was screwed up from last Friday's stint at the range. I had meant to go to the range before playing but my errands prevented me from going. Must fix it before the golf league which starts this Wednesday.

I cleaned the car yesterday. It was last cleaned last May by Mark when he was here on vacation.

Addicted

13 April 2007 at 10:41 PM

Travis mailed out the evil URL handdrawngames.com. I've been playing it since yesterday.

Went to the range at Milham and I bumped into Claude. My irons are impecable but I seem to have lost my drive. My drives were nice before the two week snow break. I have to figure out what I am doing wrong before Sunday.

Vitrification

12 April 2007 at 11:05 AM

That's my word of the day. I heard it for the first time in my life yesterday while watching a show about brick making.

Spanish word of the day is probable. The sample sentence was Es probable que ellas lleguen antes de las 2:00. But lluguen is newer to me than probable. It's pro-bab-le not probable as you would swallow it in English. They both mean the same.

Chris posted about people not posting. He's meta like that but I am posting about him not posting and posting about us not posting. Daniel posted. He worked Germany time yesterday.

I painted something that I found in digg.

Recalcitrant

11 April 2007 at 6:23 PM

Recalcitrant was my word of the day for yesterday. I was sitting in in my desk when the word popped into my head. I wasn't sure of the meaning so I headed over to dictionary.com. Upon reading the definition, I found by accident the word to define my users. Recalcitrant.

Hoy empieza la Semana Santa

10 April 2007 at 9:17 AM

My calendar is off. It also didn't follow the rule:
Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or after March 21 (the day of the ecclesiastical vernal equinox).
So its Semana Santa is off by a week.

The Banana is Ripe

09 April 2007 at 10:23 PM

That was my Spanish phrase from the calendar.

The league starts next Wednesday. I need to start doing a little bit of strength training because I am out of shape. Not completely out of shape but need to be in better form.

A Wasted Long Weekend

08 April 2007 at 9:59 PM

I am proud to say that I did absolutely nothing this three day weekend. It's not for the lack of trying but simply because of the wonderful blessing that we have called Michigan weather. Weather in Michigan has a gender and is a she. It's temperamental, moody, indecisive and you always have to work your schedule around her. Matt Malone is completely in love with her and he's straight (last I checked). I just hope she'll let us play golf on Wednesday nights this season. It's going to be our last season playing the league at The Prairies. The condo makers slapped a wad of cash on the table for the course and it looks like they're selling. Sucks for the people that bought the condos around the golf course thinking that they'll have a golf course behind them... but not for long. I wonder how pissed off they'll be when they find out that they've overpaid for a condo near a golf course that will soon disappear and their property value drops.

Malaysian GP

Alonso, Hamilton and Kimi is the podium finish. The media is going a little overboard with Hamilton and their comments. I've heard things like better points ratio than Michael, Senna etc. I am starting to dislike him because of the press. I wonder if he would be so good driving an STR or the Super Aguri. I can't also help but be weary of Ron Dennis and his bias for Hamilton. He is starting to look hypocritical with his "no team orders" stance. I bet that guy in Ferrari that hired Kimi is wishing he never upset Michael into retirement. There is no doubt in my mind that given the same situation that Michael would have won this race.

Press, don't ever think that the two races that Hamilton placed for would already earn him the right for a comparison to Michael Schumacher.

Viernes Santo

Happy 30th Birthday Daniel!

Just finished watching the practice session of the Malaysian GP. TiVo-ed obviously.

Jueves Santo

05 April 2007 at 11:28 AM

No work tomorrow. It doesn't really matter because this long weekend is covered in snow. I guess, I'll be like a bear and hibernate.

Oh No

04 April 2007 at 9:37 AM

Today is Tom's birthday and I baked him a cake. It doesn't look like he's coming in to work.

I posted replies to comments that Matt made but Blogger said "Please try your call again later" twice.
  • I tried TwitterVision and I likes it.
  • Pictometry, Inc should fly their planes around the pyramids in Egypt, around Paris, Madrid, London.
Paraphrased myself but those were my lost comments.

Thank you for smoking

02 April 2007 at 11:03 PM

The movie was hilarious.

It's probably a good time to post about my 3rd anniversary of no smoking. I am not a militant non-smoker. If there was a magic pill that will nullify the effects of smoking, I would probably buy my first pack of Marlboro Lights 72s.

Nicer Day

01 April 2007 at 12:02 PM

The sun is out and the day actually classifies as a spring day.

Yesterday, I finished keying in all my movies into a movie collection organizer. The application I am using is Movie Organizer and is freeware. My primary concern was being able to locate my movies and the custom field called Location was my only entry outside of the movie title.

I got a recipe for morcon/relleno/embutido type of thing from my dad. I am taking off to D&W in a bit for my ingredients then it's cooking time.
