Desktop Tower Defense
I listen to CNET's Buzz Out Loud podcast daily during my drive to work. Last week, they talked about Desktop Tower Defense!

The FIA’s McLaren-Monaco statement in full 30 May 2007
Having studied the radio traffic between Vodafone McLaren Mercedes (McLaren) and its drivers, together with the FIA observer’s report and data from the team, it is clear that McLaren’s actions during the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix were entirely legitimate and no further action is necessary. The facts
1. A two-stop strategy is the optimum at Monaco unless the safety car is deployed, in which case one-stop can sometimes be better.
2. The safety car has been deployed during four of the past five Monaco Grands Prix.
3. Under current rules the choice between a one-stop and two-stop strategy must be made before the final qualifying period.
4. It is clear from FIA measurements taken after qualifying that McLaren fuelled Hamilton for five more laps than Alonso.
5. This allowed Hamilton the option of a one-stop strategy should the safety car have come out during his first stint.
6. The safety car was not deployed.
7. The McLaren was significantly faster at Monaco than any other car.
Background
The primary objective of any team is for one of their drivers to win. If this can be achieved they will try to ensure their other car finishes second.
With no safety car during Alonso’s first stint, there was a small but finite risk that it would come out during the five laps before Hamilton had to refuel. This would have put him behind the field and at a significant disadvantage to any car on a full (as opposed to optional) one-stop strategy. The latter cars would be expected to refuel around lap 40 – ie after the safety car had pitted if it came out during Hamilton’s extra laps.
For similar reasons Hamilton was called in early for his second pit stop, thus assuring his second place, with or without a safety car.
Had the car in front of Hamilton not been his team-mate, McLaren might (probably would) have decided to risk the safety car and let Hamilton run for as long as his fuel load allowed in the hope that he would come out of the pits in the lead after one of his pit stops. There is, however, no obligation on them to take this risk in order to overtake their own car. Indeed it would be foolish to do so.
It is standard procedure for a team to tell its drivers to slow down when they have a substantial lead. This is in order to minimise the risk of technical or other problems. It is also standard practice and entirely reasonable to ask the drivers not to put each other at risk.
McLaren were able to pursue an optimum team strategy because they had a substantial advantage over all other cars. They did nothing which could be described as interfering with the race result.
This time it can only be attributed to Hamilton being a whining bitch ass. What was he expecting by crying to the English press? McLaren will never punish their British driver so we should expect this when Hamilton doesn't get him way. Tantrums were the last thing I was expecting to deal with during this season.

“The FIA has launched an investigation into incidents involving the McLaren Mercedes team at the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix in light of a possible breach of the International Sporting Code,” read an official statement released Monday.
McLaren boss Ron Dennis admitted that the unusual strategic requirements at Monaco meant the team had to more or less decide in advance which driver would win the race, and Alonso and Hamilton were told to hold station in the latter stages of the Grand Prix.
However, Dennis insisted the decision was purely tactical and that the team had not manipulated the result of the race in any way. The FIA will now review the relevant evidence and will make a further announcement in due course.
I hope the FIA takes the points away from Fernando Alonso and leave Hamilton's 8 points so that the British can finally get their driver fairly in the lead.
More F1 Commentaries

The English press and Hamilton's entourage are pressuring Ron Dennis to name him as the lead/primary driver. I agree because Fernando Alonso doesn't have much to his name going into this team this year. He only is the current reigning world champion and only has 2 consecutive F1 World Championships beating the god of F1, Michael Schumacher. Plus Hamilton's GP2 championship is far more prestigious. Yes, English press I think you have a valid point.

Critical and Analyzing Never Sympathetic
26 May 2007 at 9:58 AM
Critical and analyzing never sympathetic is my modus operandi when receiving/hearing something new. It's rather callous but that's how I function. I hate being cold like that but skepticism is always the safer route. That needs to change.
Newer Machine

So I guess I will be needing a beefier machine to run Starcraft II when it comes out. I wonder if the Mac Book Pro with be good enough to run Starcraft II. I am so excited about this game and I know I will be breaking balls about it until it comes out.
Hell! It's about time.

OMG! OMG! When? Why? What? Huh? Where? I need to change my underwear and it wasn't poo².
I bought my XBOX for the vaporware that was Starcraft: Ghost. I jumped up and down whenever there was a trailer for Ghost on some convention somewhere. Now they have a teaser for Starcraft II! Man, I can't wait. Blizzard, you have better not be fucking with me again!

Falling Apart
17 May 2007 at 9:17 AM
Last night, I fell apart at the last hole and took 10 strokes with a Mulligan and a drop because I lost both drives! It took me a bit to get a rhythm but I had a steady round with a couple of pars and some bogeys. I shot a 50 but should have been in the mid/hi forties.

I posted the stuff below last September. After reading Tom's comment about cafe press, I went and checked out the site. I found this t-shirt which I am itching to buy. But this t-shirt is also a close runner-up.
This post is for Andrea's friend Nicole. We had a conversation about "one for the pink and another for the stink". Here are variations that I found from my sources online.
Thump Your Bible Lately?

Nohemi and I saw a van that had a bumper sticker that says "Evolution is a lie". Yes world, there are a lot of frighteningly ignorant Americans that blend in with normal people. Actually, I take that back, there are a few normal people that blend in with scarily stupid Americans that eat, shit and breathe religion. For example, a co-worker once said "I don't want to tell my children they came from monkeys". How can you actually have an intelligent debate when they outright admit that they are that stupid?
I wonder how many Christian fundamentalist would line up to slash my tires if I had a bumper sticker that said "Bible - the best selling collaborative work of fiction in history"?

I was 2 shy from the answer to everything, I shot a 44 last night in the league. I parred the first two holes, double bogeyed hole 3, then bogeyed the rest. Just last week, I was so close on giving up golf for the season outside of the league. Now, I can't seem to think of anything else but playing my next round. I am thinking Sunday afternoon at Eastern.

Chip & Putt

I went to Milham Park GC yesterday to practice my chipping and putting. They charge $5 a pop or $50 for the season. I should have bought the season pass because it is worth it in the long run. I am in a bit of a predicament, if I read up on what to do, my play changes and not always for the better. But alone in the chipping area, I don't really know what to change to improve.
Also, for the people that say golf is a game for old people, that it requires no effort. Play 18 holes walking!

I have not been this excited about a TV show since... I don't know when. So far in its first season, Heroes has not disappointed me once. The little breaks here and there is the only thing that bugs me but that's the network's fault. Only 3 episodes left!
