35

29 November 2007 at 8:55 AM

Today, I turn 35. For some reason this birthday seem more of a milestone to me... more than 16, 18, 21, 25, or 30.

Did I mention how happy I am today?

Doctor Appointment

27 November 2007 at 4:20 PM

I went to see my doctor today at 7:20AM! Only in the U.S. can you go to a clinic and expect a doctor to be there at 7 o'clock in the morning. I left home with the moon still up in the sky.

My God-Daughter's Aunts & Cousin....

... were in this flight. Nohemi talked to me about this when I headed to Saginaw last weekend to pick up the Miata. Here's a link to the story.

Why It Died

I tore apart the old 1.4 PC to find what was the cause of its demise. Removed all the cards, the drives, then as I was about to unplug the power supply plug on the motherboard... I couldn't. After looking, I noticed that the connector was melted on the motherboard. I am glad that the sucker didn't catch on fire.

Now I know the cause. I need a new motherboard & power supply which is the excuse I needed to really continue with the make-a-new-PC project.

A Fun Subject on a Gloomy Day

I drove to work to grab a couple of CDs to play around at home. I finally took pictures of the Miata. The rainy day made the pictures look cool. All the pictures were taken at the overflow parking lot at work.

IPOWER.com Support/Billing/Sales Sucks

13 November 2007 at 5:55 PM

A couple of years ago, I had hywell.org hosted at ipower.com and needed support. I remember having to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get a person. I recall it being 45 minutes to get a person. I made the mistake of hosting mulambda.org.ph with them. I am currently on hold for 20 minutes.

Update: 40 MINUTES! Of "we appreciate your patience".

Update: 52 minutes to get a person. I was going to start watching an episode of The Sopranos while sitting on hold.

Update: To top it all off, they've charged me $47 even though I request the cancellation under 30 days. Do yourself a favor, NEVER USE IPOWER.COM!

Moleskine Journal

Last night, Nohemi and I went to Barnes & Noble because I wanted to get some sort of journal to use for car maintenance. The timing belt for the Honda was replaced some miles ago and at the time I was certain that I would recall the information. I was wrong. Instead of trying to keep all the receipts or digging through bill statements, I am going to take the route of a small journal tucked with the car's user manual that always sits in the glove box. I found one by Moleskine that is the perfect size, thickness, construction, everything.

I had an awesome time driving my 2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata LS from Saginaw to Kalamazoo. I let the back go once and I am itching to do it more. When Nohemi and I went for a ride, I slipped the back end on a bunch of leaves. Parking lots are going to rock when it starts raining next week.

I also got the new plates for the Honda. My new HYWELL plates are now in the standard Michigan.gov plates.

Our beat-up-on computer finally dies last night. I haven't thoroughly looked into it and see which part emitted the burnt electronics smell. It's an AMD Athlon 1.4 that I got back in 2001, based on BIOS. I really got my money's worth out of that computer.

Now, I am thinking of making a new computer. In preparation for Blizzards vaporware, Starcraft 2. It is only fitting since I bought my XBOX in preparation from Starcraft Ghost, which never came. I cannot complain because after modding the XBOX, it has become the most useful AV device attached to my TV. I would even go as far as saying that it is a far more useful device than the TiVo.

George is on his way to pick me up and go back to Saginaw so I can, in turn, pick up my Miata. All my computers have names... I wonder if I should name my Miata. I never named any of my cars before but this Miata thing is an obsession. We'll see.

Happy Birthday Travis!!!

Daily... means daily.

06 November 2007 at 12:22 PM

It just dawned on me that Mahalo Daily is a daily show. The fact that it was a video podcast made me immediately assume a weekly release. The fact that it was called daily really mean nothing to me. Yo-yo tricks are cool.

Veronica Belmont's Mahalo Daily is On

Mahalo Daily is up and running. First episode is about the Tesla Motors car. I wonder what the range is.
