Supervivientes: Perdido En Honduras

25 January 2008 at 11:02 AM

Nohemi and I have been watching Survivor Spain. It has made me realize the importance of knowing how to build a fire.

Sewing Machine

Nohemi bought me a sewing machine. I shortened all my pajamas last night. The first couple turned out iffy but by the consecutive ones were perfect. I still need lots of practice before I would start fixing my clothes. I need to swing by a store for fabric to practice on.

Help Me!

I tuned in to NPR on my way to work. A Republican voter said "I don't think he's electable because of his religion". I don't even know what was the topic but that statement was enough to switch to my iPod. I cannot believe the mentality of the people in this country.

Just a thought...

Jack-of-all-trades master of none... but master-of-one is the first to go during a corporate downsizing.

Aftermath of the Indiana Adventure

15 January 2008 at 11:34 AM

With George's discount, I was able to get out of the ruined rim and hub cap for $70. The rim and hub cap were brand new from the dealer. The tire was usable per Discount Tire so they mounted it on the new rim free of charge. The whole fiasco didn't really cost me that much.

Indiana Adventures

Just got back from picking Nohemi from O'Hare. We were supposed to have arrived in Kalamazoo at around 7:30PM. Instead, we were nearly two and a half hours delayed. So here's the story...

... I just paid $0.50 in the Indiana Toll Road.... started to merge left then BAM! I ran over a giant pot hole.... or a baby sink hole. So it seemed to not have phased the Honda so I kept going. But we noticed about a quarter mile worth of cars pulled over on the right. More or less about 30 cars were on the side of the road. All of them ran over the same pot hole and deflated their tires. So I decided to just check mine out. Sure enough my front driver side rim was bent and the tire was slowly leaking air. I decided to not risk life and limb and drove to the next exit. Looked for a gas station and put my spare tire on. This happened around Gary, Indiana so the exertion that I made in replacing the tire and having to have breathe deeply probably shortened my life by a couple of years. After that was done, I had to gingerly drive back to Kalamazoo at 55 MPH... my usual speed 80-90 MPH.

This Is England

This Is England is my first movie of 2008. I stumble into it a couple of months ago when I was watching previews in Netflix. I found it at their Watch Instantly section this morning. I liked it a lot. Here's a link to the official web site.
