Hi! I'm Pretty Lame

Did mostly nothing today. Hung out at Travis' place for a little while this evening then got some mee goreng from Campus Wok. And I watched more of the DVDs that I rented.

Last night, Lindsay came over to hang out with Nohemi and me. We watched a bunch of How Clean Is You House episodes.

Hunky Dory

Service Pack 1 for Vista seems to not have broken my work laptop. I am bleeding edge with my equipment at work. But I am expecting to cry in the near future when stuff breaks. But no issues so far (knock on wood).

I am planning on finally working on my taxes this weekend. It's something that I hate doing. I wonder how much HR Block or other tax peps charge for doing taxes. Fifty bucks for TurboTax so an actual person much be more. A bit much for a relatively small amount of tax return that I get in a year....

... I am done with my taxes.

I started cleaning one of my external hard drives. I hoard tons of files....

... Nohemi and I went for a ride. We drove around all the little roads around Gull Lake. It was fun. I can't wait to do it again when the weather is a little bit more pleasant than today.

Vista Service Pack 1

I just installed Windows Vista SP1 on my work laptop. It is currently shutting down. I wonder if I will regret this decision?

What is the suck, Alex?

I have had problems with Netflix and Browse Instantly on my Vista laptop. My Vista desktop plays it fine. I cannot seem to find anything online regarding this problem.

BBCed Out

The past couple of days, I have watched a couple of BBC adaptation on books. The first one was Charles Dickens' Bleak House and the other was Anthony Trollope's He Knew He Was Right. Both depressing.

I'm Going Back To The Philippines

This weekend, I bought tickets for the Philippines next month. I haven't been back for almost a decade and I am excited and looking forward to the trip. Nohemi is going this time around. I need to think of places to visit.

A happy birthday to Chris & Jaden today.

An anti-Valentines wallpaper that I bumped into today along with the birthdays led to to the thought. Some people that have birthdays falling in the month of November possibly owe their existence to St. Valentines.

Almost Spring

Yesterday:
Plowed the parents' driveway yesterday with the intention of taking out the Miata for a drive. Leaving the subdivision is always the fun part because of the slush, ice, snow or whatever it is that is on the road. Stopped by at work and saw a leak in the shipping dock. It looked like it was draining to the outside but will find out for sure Monday. Chris and I wired Adams' new office building in St. Joe in the morning. It was relatively fast and trouble free. It's funny to get one of those when everything falls into place sans issues.

Today:
Actually drove in the slush and slipped and slid everywhere until I reached 12th Street. And maybe later, lunch at R. Stanleys. It's weird to be getting up so early because the days sure seem super long.
